Where do I begin at KSC?

You are invited to these introductory events to meet the lamas and the KSC community.

Newcomers’ Night

In early Fall, Winter and Spring, the lamas host Newcomers’ Night as an introduction to KSC activities. The evening begins with Calm Abiding Meditation at 6:00 p.m. Following the meditation, the lamas and a few community members provide a brief overview of the programs offered at KSC. All are welcome. The next Newcomers’ Night will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Meditations

You do not need to attend Newcomers’ Night to enter the KSC community! All the meditations listed below are recommended for those who are exploring KSC. Each practice contains instruction in a particular meditation, as well as a talk on Buddhism by one of the lamas. These meetings also offer an opportunity to meet others in the KSC community.

  • Calm Abiding meditation, Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. in Ashland
  • Calm Abiding meditation, Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. in Eugene, followed by Condensed Chenrezig
  • Tonglen and Calm Abiding, Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in Ashland
  • Chenrezig, Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Ashland
  • Green Tara, Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. in Ashland
  • Mid-Day Sit, Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. in Ashland

Meeting with the Lamas

If you have been attending meditations or classes at KSC, you are welcome to meet with one of the lamas for spiritual counsel. Contact the Center to request a 30 or 60 minute appointment. A donation for the counseling and teaching is appreciated, though not required.

To make an appointment, call 541.552.1769 or email lamas@kscashland.org
