2016 – 2017 Class Series

The Three Vehicles of Buddhism: The Third Turning

Tuesdays, May, 2 – June 6, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

This spring, the lamas will continue their series on the three expressions of the Buddha’s teachings. The Third Turning of the Wheel of Dharma emphasizes Buddha Nature, the genuine awakened nature of all sentient beings. In addition, the Eight Consciousnesses will be introduced as a way to understand the mind’s operation. The pivotal relationship between teacher and student will be explored, and meditation methods such as Insight, Creation and Completion, Ngöndro (Foundations), and Mahamudra will be introduced. It is helpful to have attended the two preceding classes on the Turnings, but not required.
