Mind training teaches us to change our attitude toward our self and others, by utilizing both study and meditation. The attitude that changes is surrendering our habit of self-reference, and developing spontaneous concern for others. Through class teachings and independent reading of a contemporary commentary on The Seven Points of Mind Training, we will become more adept at cheerfully relinquishing our ego’s primacy.
In addition, we will learn and practice the Tonglen (Taking and Sending) meditation, and become relaxed about applying it both in formal meditation and out in the world. This class is open to all.
