Ceremonial Arts Morning: Training for Meditation Hosts with Lama Yeshe

  • Kagyu Sukha Chöling 109 Clear Creek Drive Ashland, OR, 97520 United States (map)

Sunday, February 2nd, 10:00 am – noon

In-person only, donation requested

We will begin by gathering around the shrine. What are the objects that are placed on it, and why are those objects chosen to be there? There will be time to hold some of the altar offerings, so everyone may become comfortable around the shrine.

We will particularly familiarize ourselves with the offering bowls, which are utilized at all practices and teachings in the sanctuary. How do we fill them with appropriate offerings, and then “close the shrine at the end of practices and events? Everyone will have time to practice (or refine) these basic skills during our time together.

This training is being held for current and new hosts of Thursday evening and Sunday morning meditations. It is also open to all those who are interested in the sanctuary, and the ways that volunteers care for it. We hope that some of you who might be “just curious” may become open to caring for the shrine at future practices and events, including visiting teacher events.

Lama Yeshe will be joined by leaders for the teams that keep the shrine, sanctuary, and guest teacher accommodations prepared for all events. They will support the learning process for shrine tending, and briefly share information about their teams’ activities.
