Anyone interested in Buddhist studies is welcome to borrow books and various media covering aspects of both Buddhism in general, and Tibetan Buddhism. Also, there are some selective subjects that include studies on death and dying, Buddhist art, and locally recorded teachings by Buddhist teachers.

This meditation is common to many traditions of Buddhism. In this practice, we rest our attention on a simple meditative support, such as the breath. Instead of following thoughts and emotions as we usually do, we release them and maintain our connection to the support.

Tonglen Sunday with Lama Yeshe
One Sunday each month, from 9:00 to 11:30 am.
Join Lama Yeshe for a guided Tonglen Meditation, followed by a tea break and teaching. All are welcome.
The guided Tonglen meditation begins with consideration and transformation of our own sufferings, and moves us outward to encompass the reality of others’ situation.

Led by Lama Yeshe, Joyful Effort Practice Group focuses on the Ngöndro or Preliminaries meditations. This series of Vajrayana (visualization) practices prepares the mind to receive and integrate Mahamudra teachings, by deepening our connection to the resources of the path, clearing our mind of negativity, strengthening our natural generosity, and creating a strong bond with our teachers.

Refuge Vow Ceremony
6:00 - 7:30 pm (There will be no Calm Abiding Meditation practice on this evening)
The Refuge Vow is the first formal step onto the Buddhist path. It is a statement of confidence in the Buddhist methods and path, as well as a statement of aspiration for one’s own awakening.
