ONE SUNDAY EVERY MONTH FROM 9:00-11:30 AM
On Sunday March 8th, we will begin the next cycle of teachings on The Seven Points of Mind Training, the text that is the basis of the Tonglen meditation. Our format will change: The teachings will be more concise than in the past, encouraging more discussion among those attending this hybrid monthly event.
Everyone will receive a copy of the Tonglen meditation instructions, as well as a copy of the 7 points and 59 slogans, We will also share a list of excellent commentaries on this text, which can support your practice. All of these will be available to print for online attendees.
Come join Lama Yeshe and step into Tonglen and the Seven Points text in a new way!
The foundational perspective of Tonglen practice is to consider all beings as our kin, because we and all beings share the wish to be happy and avoid suffering. From that common perspective, we aspire to utilize our natural great heart of compassion to relieve beings of suffering and bring them genuine happiness.
The guided Tonglen meditation begins with consideration and transformation of our own sufferings, and moves us outward to encompass the reality of others’ situation.
