The Buddha gave us all a tough challenge: Examine daily experience to see what is true. His studies and meditations led him to see that each moment was a creation or construction of his own mind. He noted that each experience occurs and feels real, but like all else in the surrounding universe, it fades almost instantly.
From this perspective, our teachers tell us that life is just like a dream – something totally believable in the moment, but afterwards, we realize it is not as real, and certainly not as permanent, as we thought.
What are the ramifications of taking all to be real? If experiences are evanescent, passing, does that mean they have no meaning or consequence?
Join us in a day of active examination of our basic assumptions, and the freedoms that may lie hidden beneath them.
